Information Mangement Working Group
The main purpose of the IMWG is to improve the collection, processing and dissemination of information to support decision making and strengthen information used for humanitarian purposes by building on and improving existing inter-agency processes and tools, and embracing new stakeholders and techniques.
To provide improved information management guidance and tools, the primary objectives of the IMWG are to:
- Enhance data collection and analysis, information sharing and management within the cluster system;
- Provide guidance on implementing humanitarian information management systems in the field;
- To improve analysis and decision-making by the Humanitarian Country Team/Humanitarian Coordinator, clusters, IASC agencies, the UN country team, NGOs, government, donors and other humanitarian actors through strengthened coordination, collection, processing, analysis and dissemination of information.
