Background
WHO established the Gaza Trauma Working Group and subsequent Rehabilitation Task Force (RTF) to improve the integration of rehabilitation into coordinated trauma care in Gaza in 2018. The onset of war in 2018 significantly increased the scale of rehabilitation needs, while changing the service delivery and operational elandscape. The Rehabilitation Task Force became as an entity separated from the Trauma Working Group and expanded its focus beyond traumatic injuries to account for all those who require rehabilitation services.
Objectives and Activities
The main objective of the Rehabilitation Taskforce is to provide coordination and technical leadership to support the availability and quality of rehabilitation services for all those who require them in Gaza.
Information Management
We conduct service mapping and support tracking and reporting on key rehabilitation resources, including assistive products, so that partners can more effectively collaborate to meet rehabilitation needs.
Supporting Service Delivery
We support the development of technical standards and guidelines for service delivery, adapted to context in line with the MoH and international best practice, and promote adherence to these standards for all health partners.
Advocacy & Resource Mobilisation
To support evidence based decision resource allocation and advocacy we conduct gap analyses and evaluate where services are lacking, and how partners can collaborate to best address needs
