Mine Action AoR

The Mine Action Area of Responsibility (MA AoR) web page serves as an accessible digital hub to streamline coordination, communication, and resource-sharing for Mine Action activities in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT). It is designed to provide partners, stakeholders, and the broader humanitarian community with critical information about the AoR’s structure, goals, and ongoing initiatives.

The MA AoR in the Occupied Palestinian Territory operates under the Protection Cluster and addresses the risks posed by explosive hazards covering the Gaza Strip and occupied West Bank. Co-coordinated by UNMAS and HI, the MA AoR focuses on protecting civilians, supporting humanitarian efforts, and enabling access to essential services and infrastructure.

The MA AoR collaborates with Mine Action partners to coordinate joint Mine Action efforts including activities such as Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE) and Explosive Hazard Assessments (EHA), advocate for safe access to basic humanitarian rights, and promote victim assistance. It works across sectors to identify and address critical gaps, ensuring effective coordination and integration of Mine Action activities into the broader humanitarian response. By mitigating the impact of explosive hazards, the MA AoR contributes to community safety, resilience, and recovery.
