Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS)

The National Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Coordination Group (MHPSS CG) is chaired by the National Mental Health Programme (NMHP) at the Ministry of Public Health and co-chaired by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF). It is guided by a Core Group composed of relevant ministry representatives and professional order presidents, providing strategic direction and oversight.

The National MHPSS CG serves as the central coordinating body which provides technical guidance for more than 100 organizations, including UN agencies, national and international NGOs, civil society organizations, and service providers operating across the country.

The CG promotes an integrated, high-quality, and sustainable multisectoral response to address the MHPSS needs of all individuals living in Lebanon. It works on identifying and addressing service gaps, preventing duplication, strengthening referral pathways, facilitating knowledge exchange, and building partners’ capacities, while ensuring alignment with the National Mental Health Strategy for Lebanon (2024–2030) and enhancing emergency preparedness and disaster response.
