Area-based Inter-Cluster Coordination
The purpose of the Area-Based Inter-Cluster Coordination Group (ABICCG) is to provide an integrated, area-based coordination mechanism that brings together 10 humanitarian clusters (Child Protection, Displacement Management, Education, Food Security, Gender-Based Violence, Health, Nutrition, Shelter, WASH, and Logistics) and 1 working group (Accountability to the Affected Population) to ensure a holistic response is in place at the district level. The ABICCG members adhere to humanitarian principles such as humanity, neutrality, impartiality, independence, International Humanitarian and Human Rights Law, and Principles of Partnership, including equality, transparency, results-oriented approach, responsibility, and complementarity. This commitment extends to collective Accountability to Affected People (AAP), Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), Gender-Based Violence and Gender Equality. The protection of people lies at the core of the ABICCG’s action. Regular discussions on cross-cutting protection challenges and coordinated advocacy and messaging are integral to this commitment, reflecting the group’s holistic approach to human welfare.
